After residents were evacuated from a residential building at risk of collapse in Hamburg, they asked Robo4Rent about possible support in recovering personal belongings without putting people in danger.
A camera-equipped robot dog and a robot with a gripper arm were considered for use if the building received the necessary structural approval. The technology could have supported remote inspection and a possible recovery operation from a safer distance.
The case nevertheless illustrates how robotics may support people when a potential work site is too dangerous for human access.
